My dad was lucky enough to draw a moose tag for Northern Idaho this past fall. This is a once in a lifetime kill in Idaho, and a tag that he’d been wanting for as long as I can remember. Mom went along to film him, so they had a great time sharing their passion for hunting.

Thanks for the kind words - this was awesome country, but it was a little frustrating as to how to hunt it - we’re desert dwellers, so everything we’ve done prior to this was something like spot-and-stalk.
Hopefully Mom will draw a tag this year - she put in for down in Southern Idaho where it is much more open. I think they realize we don’t know a whole lot about hunting country where it’s so dense with trees!

That is what made it for Mom and Dad, too. At first I felt sorry for Dad because he’d been wanting a moose tag for SO LONG and then they only saw the one cow and calf. But, when he told me about how much fun it was just to be together and the country they saw - it doesn’t sound like they wasted their time at all!

Great video. Sometimes its not whats in the bag but the memories you take home and it looks like they will have some good ones. If your mom tags out this next year one thing I’ve learned is that Bull moose are attracted to cow elk sounds. I’ve been chased off a mountain by a bull moose when trying to elk hunt. He wanted me and bad if you know what I mean. Thanks for visiting our site.
