January 2008 at the Madera Ranch in Batesville Texas. The weather was great this year, in the 70’s and partly sunny. This year was the deer were plentiful on the ranch. Many young large bucks running around chasing the doe’s and several mature trophy bucks. Some of the deer looked like they were still in the rut, but for the most part it was over, we found a few bucks that looked beat up and several had busted racks. 
This buck was hanging around blind #10. Very wide, hopefully he spent some “quality time” with some of the doe’s in the neighborhood.
